Camping Etiquette

Paying cash isn't a bad idea at all! I had a card issue on my last camping trip. I wasn't hooked up to my camper but needed gas before breaking camp and heading home. So I get to the pump and there's a sign on the pump that says "Card Reader Not Working, See Cashier Inside". So I go in the store and the kid on the register says how much gas do you need? I said, I have no idea. Enter $50.00 So he rings up $50.00 and gives me a receipt. Like I already pumped the gas. I Go out, pump the gas and the total was $46.50 I go back inside and he gives me $3.50 cash for the difference and then gives me a new receipt that says I pumped $46.50 I think everything is fine. When I get home, I log into my bank account and it shows two gas purchases. One for $50.00 and one for $46.50 So I called the gas station. Thankfully the phone number was on the receipt and spoke to the manager who did a refund for the $50.00 and all turned out fine but you really have to watch these places. Mistakes happen all the time!
