- hotjag1Explorer IIWe are in triple digits here in NCW, but we are heading out tomorrow to the top of Sherman Pass(highest pass in WA). There are a few lakes in that area also.
The temps up there are supposed to be in the mid to low 90's which is fine with us. It sure beats a 110 degrees or higher at our house in Chelan. - S_DavisExplorerNorth of Seattle we were at 111 degrees with about 52% humidity, i lived in Fallon Nevada and went through some 115 degree days there that didn’t feel as hot.

The DC area has been a bit warm (not hot like the those in the NW) in the low to mid 90s; fortunately the RH has only been ~50%.
No mention of humidity. Does that mean the heat is a dry heat? That would make it a little more bearable.
It’s been hot getting the TT ready over the weekend for my trip tomorrow; it didn’t take long for me to be dripping sweat. - afidelExplorer II

Portland was 20% RH yesterday when they hit their record 115 high (prior to this past weekend their record was 107, set in 1965 and 1981), still a bit higher than places like Yuma and Death Valley that normally see those temps but not so high as to stop sweating from being effective. - bgumExplorerNo mention of humidity. Are there any brave souls camping in the PNW during the heat wave. Are people using their RV and its AC to beat the heat? Has the sound of generators increased?
our house is only 5 years old and we have a modern heat pump system. it has managed to keep us cool during this PNW heat wave. didn't have to jump in our TT. - rhagfoExplorer IIIWell full time host, in a park just west of Portland site gets direct sun from sunrise until about 2pm. Single 15k in 32’ 5er, temps out side 115, inside about 85.
- kwplot34ExplorerOur 2 previous motor homes only had 1 A/C which did not work well in the heat of the day with the sun hitting it, so we purchased a Vornado fan to help circulate air had it blowing to the back of the coach to help cool the bedroom and it made a big difference. Now we have 2 A/C units and keeping cool is no issue but we still use the fan to circulate air.
- SeonExplorer IIWife and I went camping Jun 18th for three days. Ambient temp was 100° and rising at the campgrounds on our first day. AC compressor would trip the breaker within minutes. Unbearable temp reached 113° inside so we left the trailer and drove home. Returned the next morning and towed the trailer back home. I had problems with the AC tripping the breaker last year so I replaced the capacitor and added a hard start capacitor. Tested it out and had no further problem until last week's camping.
With the heat wave we've having, I decide to just replace the AC with new, so swapped the existing 11 yr old last week and finished yesterday.
Today's ambient temp was 100° and inside was a comfortable 78° at the minimum temp setting. Happy wife, happy life.
We're headed out this Friday for a week's camping. - BB_TXNomadHave been at Palo Dura Canyon SP before when it was 105 and my 2 A/Cs kept the 5er comfortable.
