Camping Lights

Ditto here. I mounted a couple of $5 LED license plate lights just under the edge of the body, they shine down and a little out. More than enough light to see by, no ‘fish bowl’ effect.

Are they breaking the law? Is there a rule against them?

No there's not but it kind of like the one's sitting outside watching there television or have there music playing to loud. I don't want to listen to your football game or whatever your choice of program is or whatever music you like. Lights is the same way only in a visual aspect.

In most places there is a rule against loud music, a loud TV, or just plain loud in general. That makes a difference

Under trailer repel rodents, they don't seem to like the bright light. Not 100% but nothing is. I also have a string of led's under the hood of my truck and keep plugged in when not driving.

Yes but do we have to make rules for everything? It's called respect and courtesy toward to others camping. Case it point-there's no rules against me have a campfire or where the smoke blows from it. If my campfire smoke is blowing into someone else's campsite so be it. No rules against it. But if I see that happening I will move mine (I use a portable) where it's not or put it out. I just get tired of everything has to have a law or rules!

If they like lights let them have lights. If they are too bright for us I will bring it up in casual conversation the next day. I can stand light better than sound. As long as both sides are reasonable we can coexist and maybe even enjoy our outing.

Another easy way to get light where you need it. HD or Lowe's have battery powered motion detector lights, two lights that will adjust for direction, about $25. I have one on front under overhang and one a couple feet from door. They mount with DB tape, works very well to see where you are walking.

In a commercial campground, especially one labeled as "family resort", I have no problem with the camping lights as long as they are not shining directly into my camper. I am expecting a busy campground with kids running around, golf carts buzzing by, moderately loud groups around campfires, etc. When we go to busy campgrounds with friends, it is nice to have stairs lit up and the funky awning lights hanging.

At the rustic campgrounds (no hook ups, heavily wooded) we enjoy going to I do not expect to see lights all over the place and will politely ask if the lights can be turned off or at least turned down.

So... I don't thing this really answers anything! lol

Consideration is usually egocentric. One person does not like a flickering tv, but just loves his flickering fire. The next does not like the sound level, but his barking dog is fine with him. The early departure irritates the late partiers that irritated everyone late at night. And, so it goes.
