Camping overnight at Cabela's

I am wondering if any RV'er have spent a night staying in the Cabela's parking lot when you are traveling. If you have what is the protocol for doing so. Does Bass Pro offer a similar overnight stay program?

I was just about to protest that our overnight stay at Cabela's in Sidney wasn't nearly so expensive then it dawned on me...duh! Of course, I managed to talk my wife into leaving the store or I could've topped $350 easily!

That is why I have always said that overnighting at Walmart or Cabela's is the most expensive overnight places to stay, I am sure that is why they allow it if the city ordinances don't get in the way.
  • I just called the store in Wichita, Ks and they do allow overnight and they almost apologized for not having power or dump station.

As with WalMart those are typically the result of a local regulation or ordinance.

  • Cabelas has a section for RV's and trucks. You do not have to notify them but I do. Also end up spending money on items or in there restaurants. Most have a dump station and potable water, and area to walk dogs, some have kennels and stalls for horses.
  • Yes, at Cabela's go to customer service and let them know your intentions.
  • I stayed at a bass Pro store. just went to customer service and asked permission to park. They told me the area in which I could do so.
