Just finished my virgin shakedown tour. 5 weeks. The only thing that bothered me was there was one guy that kept parking his vehicle in my spot. When I would come 'home', there he would be parked, like it is city parking first come first serve. I could actually reach out and touch his vehicle with my hand from my RV step if i wanted to. It was right next to my RV. I didn't know which site he was in.
So I blocked him in one night, and the next day, we left the car and went out quite early with a friend in their car for the whole day, not returning well after 10pm. Ooooh...was he livid! I shrugged my shoulder and went to bed.
The next day, he and the camp host were knocking my door at 8am. The guy was demanding I move my car, and I said 'after my coffee'. The camp host said I will do it now. Really?
I pulled the host aside and politely explained that this guy has been parking in the space I reserved and paid for - where my vehicle should go, and he has the nerve to get firm with me? I explained that if I have to share my space with another camper, I expect a 50% refund, or I will call my credit card company and refute the charges, (that bluff always seems to work) and the burden of proving the charge will be on the campground. So, I moved the car, and they were off.
But the ending was happy. The next day, an elderly couple came over to apologize. It was their grandson. They thought he was parking in the guest spots out by the office. They were aghast that we were caused some discomfort, and were glad we stood our ground. The wife said he needed a lesson in manners anyway. The grandson left that day anyway, and we had dinner with the couple..>LOL They were nice people.
No other issues...I just leave my expectations home....
