When camping in public campgrounds, I think campers are forgetting that they do not own the campground, especially the site they are on. ..... I keep to the side so as not to disturb anything. .... AND PS Our last camping trip, my husband had injured his knee and was using a cane. There was no way I wanted him walking all the way around the outskirts of the whole campground with a bum leg just to get to the bathroom. So we walked through your rented site.
I was just about to post again when I read this. I don't think anyone here has a problem with someone cutting through the corner of a site. Or even cutting through the middle if they have a medical issue.
We were at a campground having dinner at our picnic table. Two kids (probably around 12 years old, plenty old enough to have been taught at least some manners by then) cut through our site on their way to go fishing. They were saving maybe 10 feet of walking. Their fishing poles literally hit our picnic table, and we had to duck to avoid our heads getting hit. That was cutting through a site! We seriously were speechless.
Another time a very young kid, being followed closely by his Mom, walked right next to our camper and had to detour around me (reading on a chair). Mom did nothing to direct the kid away from our site, or even say "sorry!" to me. That was just rude.
Another camping trip we ended up in the middle of a great group of people who we had never met before. We talked, hung out by the fire, etc. One afternoon my kids were on the way to the pool and I reminded them to not cut through other people's sites. Our neighbor camper heard me, and immediately said it was not a problem and for our kids to please use their site as a cut-through - so our kids cut through their site the rest of the weekend.
Again and again, it all comes down to common courtesy (at least, it seems like it used to be "common") and remembering that you are not the only one at the campground. - pitchExplorer IIMy pet peeve is that I am not allowed to patrol the campground, making sure that everyone else is conducting themselves exactly as I want them to, according to the Pitch's Standards of Camping Manifesto.
I would publish copies and force every member of your party including dogs to read and understand every word, before you were allowed entry. Even then your right to say would be conditioned on whatever mood I happened to be in at the moment!
My gosh people, what the heck. You are taking your family to a place with a population density slightly higher than downtown New Dehli and you think that you have an unmitigated right not to be irked occasionally by the other residents.
Please lend me your star map to whatever galaxy you reside in!

Like that whacko woman who badgered and tried to bully the elderly couple at the sp because she wanted their campsite. - ramsgmExplorerDiscourteous, selfish, self-indulgent, pompous, complaining people are my pet peeves.
Other than that sliding down a cliff backwards into a river while I'm in my motorhome would be the only other thing that would annoy me while RVing.

I'd like to know when and where all you people go to find all these problems. My wife and I usually camp in spring and fall.Go in on a Sunday and leave on a Thursday. We don't camp on Holiday weekends.By doing these things we avoid most of the problems that everyone seems to find.
That's exactly how we camp. So you guys are the annoying people next to us.;) - ANewCreationExplorercampers with pet peeves!
- paulsangExplorerJust finished my virgin shakedown tour. 5 weeks. The only thing that bothered me was there was one guy that kept parking his vehicle in my spot. When I would come 'home', there he would be parked, like it is city parking first come first serve. I could actually reach out and touch his vehicle with my hand from my RV step if i wanted to. It was right next to my RV. I didn't know which site he was in.
So I blocked him in one night, and the next day, we left the car and went out quite early with a friend in their car for the whole day, not returning well after 10pm. Ooooh...was he livid! I shrugged my shoulder and went to bed.
The next day, he and the camp host were knocking my door at 8am. The guy was demanding I move my car, and I said 'after my coffee'. The camp host said I will do it now. Really?
I pulled the host aside and politely explained that this guy has been parking in the space I reserved and paid for - where my vehicle should go, and he has the nerve to get firm with me? I explained that if I have to share my space with another camper, I expect a 50% refund, or I will call my credit card company and refute the charges, (that bluff always seems to work) and the burden of proving the charge will be on the campground. So, I moved the car, and they were off.
But the ending was happy. The next day, an elderly couple came over to apologize. It was their grandson. They thought he was parking in the guest spots out by the office. They were aghast that we were caused some discomfort, and were glad we stood our ground. The wife said he needed a lesson in manners anyway. The grandson left that day anyway, and we had dinner with the couple..>LOL They were nice people.
No other issues...I just leave my expectations home.... - noe-placeExplorerAnything that keeps us from having a good time is very annoying.:W
- Mr_MrsSchlepproExplorerWe don't really have any pet peeves. But we have three well behaved kids,we leave our dogs at home, and I will in fact walk the edge of your campsite to get to the bath house/potty.I will NOT walk an entire block to get there..sorry..LOL

This has something to do with the "Lippert Frames" and "Chinese Bombs" they use for tires on those carts! :D
