I use to get upset with people walking on my grass when I was in the army unless they were on police call. But I ain't in the army any more.RV daytrader wrote:

My biggest camping pet peeve is somebody walking thru my campsite....what is yours so I will make sure not to do it.
Not trying to cause an argument, just curious why you care if they walk through?
Would you care if someone walked thru your hotel room?? Same thing imo....or if people walked thru your backyard?
It is the same as a person walking in the hall of the hotel my room is in, not walking through my room. If the offenders of sensibilities walk through my RV we will have a problem. If they walk on a site I am temporarily granted to site my MH on I just don't care.
I have had real vexation in my life and someone walking on grass isn't one that I can get worked up over. I think after being shot at, all else pales. - wny_pat1Explorer

Mine is relaxing at the campsite on a cool quiet evening after a long day of activities and somebody walks into MY campsite unannouced and uninvited asking me how I like my truck. I politely reply how I love it and it does the job well.
Then he starts preaching how it's not enough truck, I should expect problems, he knows somebody who knows somebody who has taken theirs to the shop so many times, bla, bla, bla. I should have looked at the Dodge diesel, that engine bla, bla, bla...
Give me a break!
Well, Ford does seem to be having their share of problems with their Ecoboost engines. My son has one, loves the truck and might like the engine if they could get it to run right. - down_homeExplorer IIHad a dog, nice looking dog, come over and pee on our outdoor furniture. I complained.
Next trip they told folks we didn't like dogs etc. They keep a camper there all the time.
So I guess one of my pet peeves is lairs and trouble makers. - CarlGeoExplorer

Mine is parents not keeping an eye/ear on their kids and allowing them to run through other's campsite and be as loud as they can be and never saying anything to them. AND this comes from a parent of 6, and yes kids will be kids but they need to be reminded of how to act in a campground and to remember their manners. And NO my kids do not have the run of the place just because we are on vacation, Our kids know better there is NO VACATION on manners period.
And the other is pets, I know this might upset some folks on here so sorry if it does, BUT I can't stand to listen to pets bark all day and night and the owner/parent of these noise makers not being respectfull of other campers.
RESPECT that is what it comes down to no matter what the issue, NOT the "it is all about me" which is what we see today.
Thank You, Thank You for being the parents you are, and teaching your children manners and good behavior!
God Bless - tnscoutrExplorerSome of you are people are funny. I believe that if I stated that the sky was blue, some of you would start arguing that that it was really green... (Note, this is for illustrative purposes only. I am not now, nor have I ever, stated that the sky was blue, green, or any other color.)
- ScottGNomadThose who disrespectfully dismiss others pet peeves are probably the source of them.

Discourteous, selfish, self-indulgent, pompous, complaining people are my pet peeves.
Other than that sliding down a cliff backwards into a river while I'm in my motorhome would be the only other thing that would annoy me while RVing.
Some see the cup half full, others see the cup half empty. If everything annoys you, do us all a favor and stay home.

When camping in public campgrounds, I think campers are forgetting that they do not own the campground, especially the site they are on. ..... I keep to the side so as not to disturb anything. .... AND PS Our last camping trip, my husband had injured his knee and was using a cane. There was no way I wanted him walking all the way around the outskirts of the whole campground with a bum leg just to get to the bathroom. So we walked through your rented site.
I was just about to post again when I read this. I don't think anyone here has a problem with someone cutting through the corner of a site. Or even cutting through the middle if they have a medical issue.
We were at a campground having dinner at our picnic table. Two kids (probably around 12 years old, plenty old enough to have been taught at least some manners by then) cut through our site on their way to go fishing. They were saving maybe 10 feet of walking. Their fishing poles literally hit our picnic table, and we had to duck to avoid our heads getting hit. That was cutting through a site! We seriously were speechless.
Another time a very young kid, being followed closely by his Mom, walked right next to our camper and had to detour around me (reading on a chair). Mom did nothing to direct the kid away from our site, or even say "sorry!" to me. That was just rude.
Another camping trip we ended up in the middle of a great group of people who we had never met before. We talked, hung out by the fire, etc. One afternoon my kids were on the way to the pool and I reminded them to not cut through other people's sites. Our neighbor camper heard me, and immediately said it was not a problem and for our kids to please use their site as a cut-through - so our kids cut through their site the rest of the weekend.
Again and again, it all comes down to common courtesy (at least, it seems like it used to be "common") and remembering that you are not the only one at the campground.
I like your description, it is reasonable and allows for human err and necessities. - 2112Explorer IIA group of teenagers throwing bean bags at a wooden box all night. It sounds like a bass drum over and over and over...
