Camping season

I am just a weekend camper that lives in southern Minnesota. I have been out three times already. Iowa had there fishing opener last weekend. This weekend is the MN opener. A lot of the state park campgrounds are full.

Been unusually cold and rainy here in New England... waiting for the heat & humidity to come in all at once...

We do 1 trip a month starting in April and ending in OCT, next weekend we have a extended weekend trip in Copake NY. :C

Took the cover off the TT over a month ago in anticipation of the about to happen good weather. However, as of a week or two ago, we were still having miserable cold & wet weather that has persisted for months.

Now, this weekend we are supposed to have record high temps. Crazy! But we won't be going camping due a to family memorial service. However the May long weekend is booked but the forecast is for rain.

This year is not doing well so far. :(

The weather experts are now predicting a long hot & dry summer in BC and a bad wildfire season.

Here in the middle of MS the real camping season is reversed from mid Sept to June 1. There are heavy rains 3-4 days every week but it only snows every 3-4 years with totals of an inch or less. No ice like they have farther south. Most summers it never breaks 100 but the humidity is brutal at 80-100% with no breeze. So water vapor instantly condenses on your cool air conditioned skin like a cold beer can. Miserable. Here the AC runs 24/7 from mid April to mid October with summer time lows in the 80's. But there are lots of summer days when the temperature is in the mid 80's so we can camp year round most years.

Ben camping non stop in my rig since October 2010.

I've already camped in my Class B 63 days this year.

We have 2 camping seasons.
First one is February to May.
We avoid camping in the summer.
Second one starts September to November.

I didn't know there was a camping season.

They're a lot challenging when its -20°F, there's 3-feet of snow and the ground, and the roads aren't plowed.

The -20 F is quite doable, the three feet of unplowed snow.....not so much! Though at -20 F, we prefer short ( less than a week) boondocking trips. For extended winter camping.....electricity is on the short list of high priorities!
