I5 is the worst. Whenever we travel, we leave and return on a Sunday morning. Too many people in a hurry on their cellphones drinking coffee.
When we were driving along Utah 24 near Capitol Reef National Park, there was an older guy with a hot honey in a red sports car stopped in the opposite lane from us. He was getting out when a semi hauling a stock trailer (a BIG one) was headed toward us in his lane. We had to swerve over to the shoulder and were lucky there was a left turn lane to the park for the truck to drive on. Close call. Hope he impressed his sweetie.
We prefer back roads but always watch for locals driving trucks with stock trailers or cattle drives (which people think they have the right to drive through????).
Some Suburu drivers seem to think they are invincible at times. I have had many pass us in snow when we are in 4 wheel drive in chains. Or, anyone in SUVs at times think they can speed and pass on icy roads. 4 wheel skid.
