Can I rip this off??

Question

This spot used to have a small flip up piece of wood to make a tiny desk good for a laptop or tablet but that's about it, plus it was super flimsy so I removed it. Probably minutes before it was gonna fall off anyways.

I'm wondering is this just caulked to the wall? If I rip it off can I just sand and repaint? Also I'm thinking it would be nice to put more counter space or desk space there. Who would I call to do something like that? A carpenter? Rv shop? Thanks.

Unscrew the cabinet screws (looks like 4) on the inside edges and use a utility knife to cut the latex caulking at the back of the countertop against the wall. Probably come right off with little or no damage to wall. If it hangs up look for further cabinet screws. Got to Lowes/Home Depot etc. and buy a cabinet or countertop and install with cabinet screws and hangers. Really easy stuff. Check youtube for how-to- videos depending on what you choose to do.
