can I tow this 5th wheel?

Thanks guys. Ended up getting a nice TT!! Associate all your help. You all helped shape my decision on a TT and also the size of the one I ended up getting.

Agree with the others. Its enough truck but IMO you won't like the small 5.4 gassers performance.

Now if the F250 had the diesel it would be a great combo.

You sure don't need a DRW to pull that size trailer or carry a 2xxx lb hitch load.

Physical size of the truck a 250 will do it fine, may need airbags or something g depending how heavy it's sprung in the rear.
The 5.4 will suck big time towing that much with. Plan on winding it out all day and not keeping up with hills. It'll make it though like and old chevy 350 but I'd get a bigger engine or a much smaller trailer.

A 9k 5er will tow better than a 7k lb bumper especially after you add another 500+ motorcycle to the bed. That was my old setup and didn't tow nearly as well as my current 5er.

Chances are your tow rating is more like 9300 lbs. You need the 4.10 rear axle to rate at 11,300 and most F250/5.4 trucks have the 3.73 rear axle. If you don't know what your gear set is then find out first before buying something too heavy. Why not a 7K dry weight travel trailer with the bike in the truck bed? Dozens of trailers fit that description.

It is a good idea to shop around. A FW with a dry wt of 8,000 will work for you. A typical FW will have a 20% pin wt. The HR you are looking at, has a 24% pin, which is on the high side.

Your truck should handle a FW, with a loaded wt of 10,000#s, which would be about a 2,000# pin wt.

The HR height appears to be 12' 3", so would be a mid height FW. A taller, but lighter FW, may cause the 5.4 to struggle just as much.

That was my thought. Our 28'er is only aroun 9.5k loaded. I would double check the sticker.

The V8 may not race up hills but as long as you are below the 11.5k tow rating, it should be OK.

I agree with Bedlam, the 250 will do the job. The 5.4 will be a little weak on uphills, and head winds. It is 300+ HP, and 365 FPs of torque, so if OP is not in a big hurry, this truck will work.

The OP has a motorcycle that weighs on the short side of 500#s. I would suggest a wheeled tote, that fastens solid to the FW at two points. I am not a fan of hanging that much wt on the back unsupported.

The F250 may be able to carry it, you will be over your GVWR, based on the dry hitch and your stated payload. Should be within axle ratings, no problem.
You real issue will be if you have enough engine to move that tall 5er. any wind will likely have a big effect on speed, and mileage. You will likey see issues with climbing hills. I don't think you will enjoy the experience.
You also didn't mention gear ratio, without 4.10's not likely to be fun at all.
You either need a smaller lighter 5er, or bigger engine. You could look for a V10, a SRW 350 would allow you to tow within GVWR if that is important to you.

I don't worry about GVWR too much, axle and tire are what really counts and I will not exceed either. If my TV needed bags or Timbier's I would also be rethinking my 5er. I do have more than enough engine to move my 5er, so that is what you need to keep in mind.
