Can I use a 50 amp connection for my 30 amp RV?

My trailer is wired for 30Amp service.

When both 30Amp and 50Amp service are available, I use the dog bone plugged into the 50Amp outlet.

The 30Amp outlet is usually messed up due to the arcing which occurs when someone plugs in with breaker on. The 50Amp outlet is usually in a lot better condition.
