Jul 05, 2014The Jeep GC is a 4X4 model with the 3.6 L V6 and the new 8 speed automatic transmission.
I have only pulled the TT with the new Jeep a couple of times. One trip was over 400 miles, mostly on interstate highways including going over So Cal's infamous Grapevine Pass. The second time I went up to one of our local mountains with an elevation of 5800 feet. On both trips the temperature gauge barely went up. I can't tell you the exact temp because the gauge doesn't show the actual temp. I made a habit years ago of turning off the A/C when climbing steep roads with the motorhomes we owned, and I'm doing the same thing when I pull the TT. I'd rather put up with a few minutes of discomfort than overheating and getting stranded on the side of the road.
The Jeep was perfect for us since it is rated to tow 6200 lbs and our TT has a GVWR just under 5000 lbs.
Our TT is a Flagstaff Micro Lite 21DS. Forest River makes the same identical unit under the Rockwood brand.
