Canopy for Rain, not just Shade?

I was disappointed to discover that the collapsible slant 4-leg canopy I'd bought for camping worked great for shade but the way it is made the canopy fabric collects water when it rains. It rained overnight and the next morning I found huge trapped pools of water in the canopy fabric, so much water that the frame had buckled. I read the package and it is silent on whether it is intended for just shade, or not for use as a rain cover.

I want a canopy for shade over our chairs or rain cover for the picnic table. I checked the Camping World website for their selection of canopies and find the same. Lots of hype about UV protection, easy to set up, etc but none clearly state they are intended as a rain cover as well.

Are there camping collapsible canopies that can function as rain cover?
