The saying, "you get what you pay for," is usually true. As far as finding a canopy that brakes down to 36" in length. You may be able to find one but question is, are you looking for what would be effectly "disposable?"
FWIW we use two like this one at Costco. It is a bit pricy but again, you get what you pay for. It brakes down to 62" in length, about 2' longer than what you are looking for.
