Canvas Wheel Covers.

I have heard from a couple of beer drinking associats that the best way to determine the size of the wheel covers before purchase is to measure across the tire. Our tires are 295/80/R22.5. My question is why not just use the tire size when purchasing covers. Or Am I listening to the bubbling of foaming suds?

  • If you're talking about covers for trailers, measure from the frontmost of the front tire to the rearmost of the rear tire.
  • Thanks for your responses. I thought about it and was going to check CW. About 150 mile round trip but any excuse is a good excuse when one just wants to ride aroungd for a while.
  • I was looking at one site and it said to measure across the tire and add two inches for the right size.
  • On some sites it asks for the diameter of the tire for the best fit
  • Having checked for covers myself, i's "small', 'medium" or "large". Not always what you want. Sometimes it's a "test fit" to ensure that you have the correct size.
