  • I'd be surprised if lane departure warning isn't mandated in the next few years, it will just take one politically connected family getting killed like this or one really passionate survivor to hound lawmakers into doing it. The cost is fairly minimal (it's an expensive option but the actual parts are relatively cheap) and it's well tested technology so it's ripe for a mandate just like airbags, backup cameras, and stability control. The nice thing is that it will add little to the actual cost of a vehicle and should bring insurance rates down some which will more than pay for the increased expense. Best of all it will mean fewer people dying senselessly.

Scares the you-know-what out of me. We've all been told again and again not to text and drive, but we see it repeatedly. I don't know if we'll ever get a handle on it.

  • Might just be because I'm getting old but I see more and more cars crossing the center line.
  • It would be interesting to know the speed of the vehicles. The MH appears to have held up relatively well in the impact.
    But, I'm guessing it's totaled.
