caretaker position for RV owner

Our daughter is moving March 1 so we will need a caretaker with their own RV for when we travel in 3-4 weeks periods in April, May/June and September, October/November. We can provide power but no water or sewer. Our well is shallow and has non-potable water and we have a newer septic system with no dumping (contractor said it is illegal).

We live on acreage near Bellingham, WA near city, county parks and a mountain biking/hiking trail system on private land just a short walk away. Grocers, potable water and dump sites and other services are 5 or so miles away. We have 4 indoor cats who need to be fed and their 2 litter boxes cleaned daily. We also have a garden/greenhouse that would need to be watered when needed.

In between our travel periods you could explore the San Juan Islands, Olympic National Park, British Columbia, Cascade Range, North Cascades National Park, Oregon and Washington coasts, winter sports in Mt. Baker National Forest, Seattle, sailing, kayaking, and other PNW attractions. The Alaska Ferry terminal is 5 miles away and we are serviced by Amtrak/Greyhound. Lots to do around here.

I am not sure about what to pay or what other compensation could be offered. We requesting folks who live in an RV as we are doing a remodel of floor and ceilings so house is a mess. We want you to be trustworthy and have verifiable references. Any advise on this would be very useful as we have never done this before.
  • I have worked camped for many years. I hope you have success with your employment offer, but I must tell you, you do not offer anything to entice a reliable work camper. You do not have water or sewer, which mean anyone would have to move the RV at least weekly, maybe more often, in the search of safe water and a sewer dump.

At best, you should offer free parking in exchange for the work you request. If you could find a way for a work camper to have access to safe water and a place to dump grey but not black water, then you should have much better success.
