Trying to bring this thread back from the brink ... I admit I'm no big fan of Carlisle and switched to LT tires years ago. However if they've added a nylon cap it may be worth another look. My issues with them were all tread separations and while one can argue from an overall theoretical design standpoint if a cap is necessary, it is an additional measure to keep that tire together.
I'd like to see how they applied that cap. If others are not reporting issues it may be worth a try vs. my route of new wheels etc...
