For those of you that are using CB Radios, I just picked up a nice one at WalMark for around $80.00. It's a Midland 75-822 and it looks like it a good one. Does anyone have any comments or have used it?
I figure my 2m Yaesu Ham radio should take care of me ok, but I just wanted a little backup coverage when out of any repeater sites.
Channel 9 and 19 are the emergency channels.
Thanks,

They are popular with the off road/ rock crawling crowd as you can use it in the vehicle with a "real" antenna powered off the vehicle or use it outside with the battery pack. I considered it as I don't want to have another box to mount in the cab of the RV. I ended up with one of
these. Almost all of the electronics are in the hand set. The antenna and 12V power go to a smaller box that's easy to mount and the hand set cord connects to it via a pigtail. I have no need to carry a CB around with me outside the RV so the Cobra was better suited. People with rag tops like both the Midland and Cobra as you can stash the radio out of sight (or take it out of the vehicle). Mine is sitting on a table awaiting installation (next project) with a Firestik NGP 5/8 wave antenna.
