Celebrity RV people

I didn't know if this had been discussed here, I was just curious after watching Letterman then Craig Ferguson tonite (I don't sleep)

Melissa McCarthy had mentioned to Dave that after finishing a movie tomorrow she along with hubby and kids were going to RV back to LA on an 11 day trip from Niagra.

Then Craig Ferguson had Jeff Daniels on who was talking about his 42 foot "bus".
Celebrity RVer's <<< just about all the links from this web story are dead sadly.

I know we've all seen the big road coaches flying down the freeway.
Just found this interesting.

I think Vin Diesel has an RV something like that also.

Wouldn't that make the name of his RV "Van Diesel"? (Insert groan here).
Many celebs, bands and performers travel that way with a professional driver. A lot more room to sit, move around, practice or sleep between performances. Think of the time they save NOT hanging around at airports. Not to mention those comfortable seats in a plane. I see many of the fancy RVs parked in a lot across from the Cincinnati Convention Center on a regular basis. Many of the drivers stop at the bar across the street just to have somebody to talk to and grab a bite to eat. I swear I go every Thursday just for the food. :)
  • Watched something recently about Simon Cowell's 1100 square foot 2 story rv!

One of the most prolific is Jeff Daniels!

There are 11 episodes in total. All hilarious. And yes that's his personal Country Coach.

He was also pretty funny in the movie "RV" (Robin Williams comedy) with Kristin Chenowith as the two friendly, singing campers they meet along the way. Love that movie.
  • Saw an interview of John Davidson not long ago in a magazine - he RVs to perform various cities and lives with his wife in their nice RV instead of hotels.
  • Many entertainers have converted their tour buses into RVs over the years. I'm thinking of Loretta Lynn as one; saw on a tv program recently about customized rvs the new touring RV of a band (can't remember the band), but they had a nifty bunk setup with kitchen, bathroom, etc.
  • John Madden, former coach of the Oakland Raiders & long time football commentator, refused to fly, so when he had to travel, he went by MH.
There used to be a program on Sunday mornings, with Charles Kuralt, where he traveled the country in an RV.
  • There are many "celebrity" RV'ers. A few years ago, we shared a Lowes parking lot for the night with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and his wife. We had a pleasant conversation while we were walking our dog. Many years ago, along with most of the other campers, we were serenaded at a community camp fire by fellow campers John and Annie Denver at a state park in Connecticut.
