- DufusExplorerWe have the Dirt Devil central system and are pleased with it's operation. The beater brush seems to work very well. Have never used the Dyson system, so can't make a comparison. I would think there would be a storage issue.

Dyson by a long shot. They don't even compete in the same league as the Dirt Devil.
We have the DC59 which we use for our RV as well as around the house for quick touchups. We also have the DC41 Animal upright at home. They both will suck the chrome off a trailer hitch. Its just the two of us and we keep our home very clean, and by god, every time I run the vacuum through the house, which is 2-3 times a week, I fill up the whole bin.
The Dyson costs a little more to purchase, but I'll never be without one again.
My opinion is exactly opposite. Except for the Dyson cost thing. Our Dirt Devil central system kicks our Dyson's stick models butt...in spades. If I was going to make the choice again, I would go with the Dirt Devil Central system. - ReneeGExplorerOur fifth wheel came with a Dirt Devil central vac. I love it for vacuuming the kitchen vinyl and crevices, but I'm not too impressed with its lack of cleaning the carpet good. We do have a Dyson vacuum, I don't remember the model, but it's one of the smaller one, yellow, with the ball, and it does a fantastic job. As soon as we pull in to a camp site with power, we vacuum because when we're dry camping, we don't!
- Jim-LindaExplorer IIFWIW, the Shark is just a good as Dyson and much cheaper.

Central vac is very mediocre. Dyson is tops. More expensive, but do you want a vac that kinda works?, or one that works really good? Get the Dyson.
100% agree!
The Dyson stick has a POWERED beater brush in the head gets lots of dirt up, we love ours. - scootskExplorer IIII have the opportunity to get the dc35 and cordless car tool kit (Includes: stubborn dirt brush, handheld soft dusting brush, extension hose and wide nozzle tool-59.00) bundle for 263.00. So price will be the same a the best price for central vac that I've found.
- MocoondoExplorer IIThe other nice thing the Dyson has over the central vac is you can take the Dyson anywhere. The central vac is limited to the confines of your coach. Also, the Dyson does collapse down into a much smaller footprint than any central vac I have seen.
The only downside I have come across with any Dyson is the cost, but after seeing how good of a job it does, I got over that part pretty quick. - MTPockets1ExplorerCentral vac is very mediocre. The dirt devil is a central vac and you only need to store the tools. All others will require you to store everything. Dyson makes decent products, but they are expensive. And there are others just as good for less money
Donn the dc35 and dc44 animal vacs are stick vacs which would fit easily in a small space, the vacuum tube can be removed for even more compact storage. If the storage wasn't an issue would the central via still "win". - donn0128Explorer IIThe dirt devil is a central vac and you only need to store the tools.
