In the many many years of riding bikes, I have yet to ever see a bad head injury or really any kind of head injury. I have seen lots of skinned elbows, skinned knees, skinned knuckles from riding too close to a fence or a wall.
Let me make the decision to wear a helmet don't force me to do something that is designed to CYA.
I never looked at it as a choice that someone was putting on me. As an adult I'm not required to wear a helmet out riding the streets or trails. I choose to because I know what will happen if my head slams into a tree or curb. Even if I don't receive any major physical damage, having the helmet hit something rather than my head might save me a cut or nasty bump. Why put yourself thru that if it can be avoided? I guess you're more hard headed than most safety minded people.
