I'm sure that insurance is a very significant portion of the costs to operate a CG. Anything the owners can do to reduce cost, within reason, cannot be overlooked. As long as our court system refuses to hold people responsible for their own stupidity, lawyers will continue to rule the world!
Way too many people look to lawsuits as a way to avoid actually earning an honest living. Personal Injury Lawyers and their relentless TV ads do nothing more than promote that way of thinking. Get hurt (no matter who's at fault), sue, get rich and spend the rest of you life on the couch watching Jerry Springer. Oops! Did I say that out loud? :-/
BTW -- I don't even own a bike helmet.
