Chains?
Do you put chains on your trailer? What kind? Are they the same as regular truck chains? We hope we don't need them, but want to be prepared. Thanks!

Generally required by law if chains are required.
Often refered to as 'Drag chains" required when TV is chained to as stated to assist the trailer stop in a straight line, if you are moving in snow, you should be concerned as to how to stop!!

All of the Cascade passes, and the I-5 and I-84 passes in Oregon, are REQUIRED to require chains much of the winter. Most of the lengthily highway shutdowns are from trucks trying to get through without chains.
Carringb, the carrying of chains is required during winter months, if snowing. I carry chains in the 5er and TV year round, don't need to hunt down for winter. I need to get some cables for the TV fronts, just in case.
Chain Chains for the rear for real traction, cables for the 5er, I have not needed to use them yet, but have them and know how to get them on.

At the present time, I have no chains for the car, truck, or motorhome.

Well for those of us the four season camp sometimes you get a little surprise, I didn't need to chain up, even needed to stop for a spun out recovery on an up hill, no issues getting going! Well after this return trip, I went to the coast about three after this trip, knowing there was snow on the coast passes when I left.
