Chains?

I carry low profile chains for the truck and cable chains for the trailer starting every November 1st. I avoid snow while towing because of the hassles of chains (even though I am prepared), but have no problem taking the truck camper up into it.

May God be on your shoulder if chains required signs are up and you decide you don't need them

PS - I use Les Schwab quick fit chains. HD on the van, standard duty for the trailer. The extra cost is well worth the quick install. I also use spider bungees to they stay nice and snug without having to re tighten beyond the first time (a hundred ft or so after putting them on).

All of the Cascade passes, and the I-5 and I-84 passes in Oregon, are likely to require chains much of the winter. Most of the lengthily highway shutdowns are from trucks trying to get through without chains.

At the present time, I have no chains for the car, truck, or motorhome.
If chains are required, I just ain't going anywhere!

Yes. Cable Chains. I use chain chains on my truck....sometimes all four wheels for winter boondocking...usually this means I goofed. If you travel over the mountains in the winter in Oregon, state law requires that you at least have them along.
