I have not had good luck with LED strips, even expensive 120V ones for the home... half still work after a year. The ones I use under the cabinets in the bathroom as night lights last less than 18 months as half timers before half the leds no longer work. The one under my awning with less than 30 hours of use have only 2/3rd of the leds still working. If you go with strips you can buy snap on power connectors.
Fortunately I used led panels when I replaced my fluorescent and I have found 5050 chips run cooler than either of those mentioned above. As my ballasts stop working I'll replace with led panels as the energy savings... 1/3rd less is OK, but nothing like the 1/10th compared to halogens.
