I'm working on this project now. However, we are traveling and can't find the diode I want. I measured my Jeep charge currrent & it is 7 amps. Fused it for 10 & no problems. I don't think I need to buy a Toad charge that doesn't do more than a diode. All Electronics sells a MBR2545CT diode for $1.20 that will work. 25 amps@45v.
I haven't been using a diode to charge my Jeep but when I turn off ignition on MH Jeep battery feeds back voltage. This effects slide operation, camera operation auto front shade. If I find a diode source other than web I'll PM you.
