Same here…Not to knock the impressive engineering of EV’s (free enterprise addressing the marketplace), but my sense is that we’re nearing a grid juncture where gov authorities can and will turn on and off the charging (meaning vehicle mobility) as may be deemed appropriate…Without a renewed enhancement of the grid, the future of transportation is becoming a bit less certain - JMHO only…

Yah a rookie mistake for sure but its part of the learning process.
We carry a campground charging kit with 4 dongles for the EVSE that came with the car.
5-15 which allows charging at 12 amps at 120 volts
5-20 which allows charging at 16 amps at 120 volts
TT30 which allows charging at 24 amps at 120 volts
14-50 which allows charging at 32 amps at 240 volts
But these are "intelligent" dongles with a little circuit that tells the EVSE the max it can draw from any given circuit. This prevents breaker tripping.
In addition it has a temperature sensor in the plug in end. If it detects high temperature caused by a bad connection on the receptacle it will limit the current to either 75 percent or 50 percent or shut it right off. It also does this if it detects low supply voltage. Nice.
By far our most used dongle is the TT30 as we rarely rent 50 amp sites.
Here is our kit. The EVSE and 5-15 came with the car, we bought the other three dongles. There are 9 available in all so you can pretty much plug into anything, welders, dryer outlets etc, but these are the only ones we use.
We are using the TT30 at this site.

Noooo, you're looking at it the wrong way....
Youuuu need to get 10 grand worth of batteries and solar panels and inverters so that YOU aren't a burden on the electrical service so that those who have EVs have enough power to charge them!
Something funny I just thought of... buy all that chit I mentioned above, so you can go be one with nature and eco friendly and not have the smell and noise of a generator....but you can't tow your eco friendly RV with an EV because you don't have a generator to charge it. So you end up camping next to a plug in for your car whilst harvesting the golden rays of the sun to not use the power to plug in your camper!3 tons wrote:
