So glad that you were able to get in touch with the family, and save them. I hope that they told others in the theater that the storm was coming.....did the theater get leveled too?
Yes, those cheap little HF tools (and in this case the genset) are cheap, and probably won't last you a lifetime, but they do the job (for the most part) and come in handy for those occasional jobs.
I've still got the Craftsman tools I bought about 40 years ago.....but I also buy some less expensive HF tools to keep around the house (junk drawer in the kitchen, or out in the shed by the pool)...just in case!
HF may be cheap....and they may be "junk" to some people, but they are also life savers, when you need them.....
