About half way through our PCS from FL to CA. Left Wichita Falls, TX this morning for Tucumcari, NM. Took 287 up to I-40, it was a great ride, but windy as all get out. I found it comical that everywhere there was a "Severe Crosswind" sign, there were actually severe crosswinds. I stopped once to double check all connections and sway brace...well, I got to our campground (KOA) and I find that my access door to my propane tanks has gone missing... What a pain, I guess it departed during the winds today. Long story short, my wife now knows why I do a complete walk around when we stop....I treat it like a post flight walk around.
Tomorrow is Farmington, NM, then 4-Corners and Grand Canyon.
Safe travels.

I see you visited our fair city. Were you just here overnight? Where did you stay? Coyote Creek or the city RV park? For overnighting or just a couple days stay, at $17.00 for water, elect and a dump station, the city park is a good deal. As far as the wind, sorry for your loss, but the wind is pretty much an everyday occurance here.
We stayed for six days at the park on Seymour HWY (Wichita Falls RV park). My dad's side of the family is from there. It is three miles from my aunt's and a little further to one of my favorite grocery store, United Market Street. I try to get back often to see my grandfather, he is 92. Plus, I want my kids to see him too.
I am pretty sure I lost my access door within the last 15 miles of TX, entering NM. We are in Farmington now heading to 4-Corners tomorrow.
