Chevrolet Equinox electric steering

We are towing a 2016 Chevy Equinox. We have not experienced any death wobble yet. I know I’m a little slow, but something just hit me. With the key off, does the steering wheel have any control over the front wheels? If so, it really isn’t electric steering. Any ideas?
  • Yes, the SW is still rigidly connected to the wheels. It;s just the assist that is inop. Just like a traditional car when the eng shuts down and the assist goes away.
  • The latest fix to this problem with the GM 4cyl electric power steering vehicles
is now to leave fuse #32 in place but remove fuse #16.

    uh huh.

Thanks! It isn’t steer by wire.

No, they haven't quite mastered that yet. Soon, though, I'm sure.
