Chicago and truck and RV trailer friendly can't be used in the same sentence!!
Just be aware that trucks are not allowed in town in Chicago nor on LSD.
And I found out when I had just a plain passenger van that the outdoor lots charge $100.00 a day for vans. they don't care if you are construction or not they charge $100 per day for vans. Don't know i that also includes trucks.
Obvious reason they don't want construction workers in their lots all day only paying the car parking fees. :R
I argued it with the lot attendant to the point of almost getting arrested. :W
Correct; trucks are not allowed to park OR drive on LSD. Been going on pretty much since the parkway was developed. And some of the residential areas frown upon them as well ie. easy to get a ticket.
Similar regulations in NYC BUT here it can only be enforced for commercial vehicles and they are given special plates. Oh and commercial vehicles can park in public garages here but rarely do; actually no one in their right mind driving whatever parks longterm in Midtown. The prices are "shudder-ible" for whoever enters.
I forgot about that 2nd City anomaly so thanks for the reminder:).
As this relates to FTW's needs prolly means his kids need to find a motel outside of the city proper that is close to public transport to tour the city. My hotel info and contacts don't relate/work in motels so sorry I can't be of any further help:(.
ETA: would they consider parking at a campground and possibly either kenneling the dog or staying in town with the dog and leaving the RV and truck at the site? Chitown has Uber and ZipCars, as well as traditional car rentals to get around as well as public transport.

OR simplify the Wynns' idea and park the RV and truck at the convention center and then stay in a pet friendly locale:

Just trying to think outside the box.
