Our dogs camp with us, but in all honesty, I would prefer that they don't. We weekend camp about 2x a month between June and September, so our dogs don't really adjust until halfway through each weekend. It causes them a lot of stress, they fuss quite a bit, and their stress becomes my (our) stress. Kenneling is an option, albeit expensive, that we could afford but the stress level for the dogs must be astronomical in a situation like that. I always worry about their quality of life or whether proper care is provided at even the best of places whenever we must kennel. In a perfect world, we are able to find someone willing to stay at our home with the dogs while we camp. Otherwise, they're with us and we will adjust and be respectful of others at all times. Our dogs are family, our fellow campers are our neighbors, and it's up to us as pet owners to ensure peace and harmony for all in these situations.
