I find it offensive that anyone who reports a tire failure gets grilled about tire pressure and/or weight.
I do not find it offensive at all. These are the very first questions that should be asked after ANY tire blow out. To jump to conclusions that one particular brand is ALWAYS the root cause is poor judgement.
With the high number of ST tire failures reported here on RV.net, the very first question should be: "What type of tire is it?" I went through several ST tire failures and none were caused by low inflation. One could not get more anal about monitoring tire pressure than I am. In all cases the ST tires failed because of Tread Separation and that failure has even occurred on spares that have never been on the road as reported right here on RV.net. ST tires have proven to be totally unreliable on the heavier trailers. On lighter trailers they may last longer. Now running LT tires without problems. I guess my monitoring of tire pressure has improved. :-)
