FWIW China made ST tires work better with lower weight TT and 5th wheels. Heavier 5th wheels and toyhaulers have real issues with the China made ST tires. BTDT. Mine were checked before every traveling day and I have my own compressor so that isn't an issue. I still had 2 of them blow out before they were 2 years old, and less than 8,000 miles. IMO they simply don't have the strength for carrying such large, tall, heavy loads.
Triple axle trailers would add more problems of their own. The tires have more of a load when turning sharply than a double axle, and this could add to the issues with ST tires.
Also, the problems seem to just disappear when changing to an LT tire with about the same, or even lower, weight rating. And when you compare the relative strengths of the sidewalls of ST tires vs LT tires, it becomes even more evident that the sidewalls are very flimsy on the ST tires.
If mistreatment were an epidemic with TT tires, and 5th wheel tires more of the LT tires would be disintegrating also. But that simply doesn't seem to be the case. And more top end 5th wheels and toyhaulers are coming from the factory with LT tires. Maybe the factory is realizing that ST tires just don't cut the mustard.
