China bombs still bombs if way under limits?
That has been my experience.
Before ST tires were sent overseas/across the border all of our ST tires were all made in the USA by the our major tire makers. They were just as problematic then as they are now. We simply referred to them as ST tire bombs
I've tried running 40-50 percent higher capacity on many USA made ST tires. I had the same bad luck which most of the time was a zipper or a complete tread loss usually within the first 6000-8000 miles or the first 90 days. Carlisle back then was a 3500 mile tire and then the sidewalls would zipper.
IMO the problem with St tires isn't because their made in china but rather a poorly designed tire with those basketball shaped sidewalls which was to soak up harsh ride from those stiff 26" very short leaf spring suspension on our trailers.
We have some excellent china LT and P tires out here that are just as reliable/long term miles as any of our made in USA tires.
