For those of you mocking the RV'ers who say to call the State Patrol dispatcher for help, I have some good news. If you are in Texas, look on the back of your state-issued driver license*. There you will find an 800 number to call if you have a breakdown while on the road. It is called "Texas Roadside Assistance", and their number is 1-800-525-5555. This number is great if you have a disabled vehicle blocking normal travel lanes. They will dispatch a trooper as a minimum to help safely direct traffic around your vehicle, and can usually provide a number to a local towing company or tire shop.
* - yes, in Texas the license is singular, and not possessive (i.e. Driver's License or Drivers License). I guess that you are a licensed driver. Weird, huh?
