Hi, my name is Richard and I am a coffe-holic.
I have tried lots of options, but found that the simplest is the best-est. I now use a french-press. Has a glass insert, which I think is better than a plastic one. I keep the beans or grounds in small quantities in the fridge and boil the water for each pot, as needed. My press makes about one liter/quart enough to fill my daily mug and a small thermos. When on the road it fills a Stanley Thermos with no waste. The small thermos stays hot for 8 hours, the large for about 12. My total cost is $20 for the kettle, $15 for the press and about $2.25 for the plastic storage containers for the coffee.
