As far as the backing thing.
We used to have a old fiberglass 5th wheel livestock trailer on the farm . It wouldn't back up worth a darned. When it wore out we got a new aluminum 5th wheel livestock trailer and it backed up much better. I discovered that it has something to do with the geometric relationship of how far from the pivot point of the trailer and from the front axle that was the difference.
Some truck and trailer combinations just don't back up well.
