As said only you can decide but also like others have said, try out the hotels before you make the decision. We use to camp with another family and that was fun. It grew and as more were added we found we like camping alone a lot more so we try to get in a mix. As for pets, the cat always stays home and if we are gone for a week we just leave out more food and have someone check about mid-week. The dogs loves to camp but our daughter is back in the house so the dog stays home which makes camping even easier and better. We find camping with the dog very restricting as we cannot always go where we want since you can't leave the dog and you can't take the dog. We have gotten in trouble for going to the pool and leaving the dog in the trailer. We have been spoken to for a few other things about the dog as well and I would never leave the dog in the truck so we feel limited.
