converter interference

I would try putting a ferrite around the AC power wires for the converter. Any DC component of RFI or EMI is not going to interfere with TV transmission.

NO it does not sound like a defective converter. It sounds like a poorly designed one.

It covers many causes and cures.. It should have info on curing common mode interference such as you have.

Easy test would be to run a temporary coax elsewhere.

Can the dealer re-route the cable through the roof?
Is the converter chassis grounded?
Is the coax wrapped up in some other 120v or 12v cabling?
I would at least try a different brand or replacement converter.

Got the trailer back today. They said they were looking for a rf filter for the wires because the factory ran the coax took close to the converter. Not sure if I buy that answer but you have to play the game. This ONLY affects the cable in. No issue with over the air antenna

The FCC required all manufactures to insure all their electrical appliances not send out "Harmful RF". Harmful RF being any RF that interferes with other appliances. I'd suggest they replace the inverter.

Also look at the coax cable, it shielded and should shield against most RF noise so theirs a break in the shield or the noise is really bad. Try running the inverter and turning on a AM radio can you get any signal to the radio?

Is the cable connected wrong at the antenna booster?

I had an issue once with a circuit running my newly installed Shurflo roof vent fan which made my TV picture scratchy. The manufacturer sent me a diode to put in the positive lead wire and that resolved my issue. They also told me I could reconfigure one of my 12V circuits and switch with a 'filtered' circuit. Apparently some of the 12V circuits are filtered while others are not. Since the diode installation resolved my problem I didn't switch circuits. I was told that the radio and TV booster circuits were filtered while light circuits etc are not. Might be worth looking into...

He said cable coax so no voltage should be on it. I would say RF from converter. May be bad converter .
