We always cooked our lunch on the manifold while Jeeping. It's amazing that even on rough boulder-filled roads we never lost anything. It was great having something hot for lunch.
On our Alaska trip we made BBQ ribs in the crockpot (secured in the sink) and the wonderful smell was with us.
I wouldn't use the oven though because whatever you'd put in there could easily move around on sharp turns or bumps.
