Wow, people really freaked out at this thread overnight. I will make an attempt to get things back on track:
The CDC is asking that people do not go to doctors offices, ER, hospitals, unless they have difficulty breathing. So the suggestion of seeking medical care is not a realistic one.
In the scenario I'm concerned about, then one I proposed in the OP, I'm too sick to drive, but not having difficulty breathing, and therefore even if I got to a hospital they would just send me home.
I do travel with pets, too, so that is a concern.
As for percentages, just like the flu, the estimate is that 40 to 80% of us will get it, and very few of us will die.
I wish I had not mentioned coronavirus at all in this thread and just asked what I should do if I get a severe flu and cannot get to groceries or doctor. Maybe people would have been calmer.
