I called Freightliner today to make arrangements to take my DP motorhome in for routine service. The charge that I was quoted really shocked me. What is a reasonable charge for routine service on a CAT 330hp including all filters (Oil, fuel, and air) lubrication, and oil and filter change for generator. In addition to quoting me an outrageous price they told me I should have the service done every 10,000 miles. Am I being taken?

Gee, what were you quoted or is that a secret? Anyone else give a quote? Regarding maintenance interval, why not follow the manufacturer’s recommendations?

Make sure your comparisons of service are the same ie, replacing ALL the filters, etc. with quality parts (not Napa).

Cost quoted was probably at least $600 and less than & $800. Hows my guess?

I just did the cummins today, 5 gallon bucket of delo 15-40 $100.00 FL3000 filter $45.00.YMMV

Most FL dealers have at least a 100 dollar per hour labor rate so it will be high (total service bill) but you usually get what you pay for.)

I can get that done plus two fuel filters, water filter, and chassis lube for another $100
