When we describe to others how we travel and how good we are at finding the low to no cost for an ONP, they are often surprised.
Well, for starters, we are travelers more than campers. We are usually in the coach to get to where we want to be. That may be where we will pay for an FHU, but also often not it is bare ground. To me the big issue is locating a dump and potable water about every forth day. As long as I can manage that, I sure don't need a 35$us/night flat spot with a pool that is not open and a game room full of shouting children.
It will always annoy me to be forced to pay for things I neither need or want. I have never gone into a restaurant and bought a meal only to leave it untouched because I never wanted it anyway. My retirement (forced) has not been as planned. I worked and scrimped and saved for many years only to have some people abrogate the bankruptcy laws that were written to protect me take away about what was just paid for a speaking fee.
