I travel extensively on company business and don't fret the costs since that is covered by our customers who have requested our services. We use our RV every chance we get, but there are times when a hotel is required, we haven't experienced the degree of rate increases others have seen thus far. Sure it may be $20 more a night than 5 years ago, overall not much to complain about as it is simply inflation at work.
As for how we prefer to do our RVing, cost is not an issue when deciding where to stay when arriving to our destination. If a private park is the best method for that particular situation then that is where we stay. Private parks are always our least preferred method of RVing, we always seek the more spacious sites that many COE or state parks provide, all of which have electric, water, and dump stations, they are hardly considered slumming.
