I believe I read that the extra cost is due to a big deposit, am I right? Well, deposits are usually refundable once it is seen that no damage has been done to the premises. So, don't you think you'll probably get your deposit back? That would return the cost to the dollar amount you originally expected.
No. the deposit is to hold the condo. the balance will be due on arrival. Much like the deposit on a campsite. It is just to hold it till you get there. then you pay the rest. So we paid 525 up front, with nearly 800 outstanding per family. In the beginning it was only to be 1025 per family, then the rates went up for 2017. Never again.
Can I get out of it? Yes. but then the other people would either have to pay the difference, or cancel. I can't do that to them.
