I am a full timer. So I spent a lot of time trying to figure the best way to go. Here's what works for me -
Phone - Iphone5 and I use the Walmart Straight Talk plan - $49/month with all taxes. Unlimited talk and text and 2 GB data at high speed and after that, unlimited data at 2G speeds. No contract.
TV - I have a WineGard Pathway X2 (works GREAT) and an upper tier plan with Dish that includes HBO and Cinemax for $116/month. No contract. This can be changed to a lower cost plan in the blink of an eye.
Internet - I use Millenicom. 20 GB is $90/month. Used to be $70 until Verizon demanded higher fees. No contract.
So my total is $255. I'm Ok with this cost. I have a high level Dish subscription, basically unlimited talk, text and data on my phone, and enough data for my computer needs.
For 2 people, this cost would increase by only another $49/month for an additional Straight Talk account.
Both my Straight Talk account as well as Millenicom run on the Verizon system. I am of the opinion that Verizon has the best nation-wide coverage and I wanted both these services to be 'Verizon'.
I set my phone to search for my Millenicom Wifi signal and use it if available for data. Also my Nook, Samsung tablet, and wireless printer.
I also have a Wilson Sleek in my truck and one in the the 5th wheel.
OTA TV doesn't work well for me for 2 reasons - You need to be relatively close to a large city and (mostly) many of the shows I like are 'cable only'. CG cable doesn't cut it for me since I'm a full timer. You never know what you will get from one place to another.
I never use CG Wifi, or McDonalds, etc. Again, as a full timer I do everything over the internet (pay bills, use Amazon, etc) so I want my own Wifi.
