If you spend time in urban areas with Clear coverage, you can save some money by getting a Clear modem and month-to-month service. Right now we are paying $170/mo for a Verizon hotspot with 15 gb. We considered it but will be getting on the road pretty soon and it didn't seem to make sense. I figure as long as we're paying less than we paid in our house, we're ahead of the game.
